Dan grew up in Providence, R.I., and spent part of his childhood in Rio de Janeiro and Trinidad.

​

He is a graduate of Brown University and the Harvard Graduate School of Design.

​

He primarily designs summer houses. Many of his projects have been on 
Cape Cod, Bald Head Island in North Carolina and Block Island in Rhode Island.

​

His work has appeared in the New York Times, Metropolitan Home, Coastal Living, Cottage Living and
Fine Homebuilding.

​

He served on the Historic Preservation Commission in Somerville, Mass., and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Block Island Historical Society.
